I used to have an early printing of the book with 16 full page color plates (don't know what happened to it and probably worth a lot today). I remember reading the stories and looking at the artwork. it was VERY creepy.

This hits me hard, I was also sleep deprived when I had my first baby and I had have so many bad ideas because she was crying nonstop. One day I was cleaning a whole chicken and somehow I thought I saw her instead and I ran outside. My neighbor saw me and ran over my fence so fast and took the knife and told his wife to go inside and check. She came out with my daughter and said "she's okay, she's alright". They called my ex husband right away, turns out I had postpartum depression, and yes, he's an ex now cause he never believed I had depression saying that "haitians" don't get depression. I'm glad I left him 😊
